Which classic Sonic game had the best special stages?

>>

>>852 That's because it was the last Sonic game before Sonic's redesign in 1998.

>>

>>571 I liked S3&K's the most. Sonic 2's special stages are fairly fun, but doing the last one with Sonic and Tails is a complete nightmare if you don't have a friend who is just as good as you to help. Sonic 1's are a neat idea, they're just not great. CD's look the coolest, but I remember the later stages being a pain. Chaotix has the absolute coolest special stages to the point where I'm actually convinced they spent more time on them vs the actual game, but I'm terrible at them and have never gotten all the Chaos Rings. so I refuse to say they're the best. You also move a bit too slowly, or maybe the camera FOV is just set up that you don't get a good sense of speed.

>>

Sonic 1 because I can actually beat them. (But really, I found the half pipe and spheres stuff to be not as interesting). The CD stages were fun but they felt kind of extraneous as you didn't have to do well in them to fully beat the game.

>>

>>571 S3&K's special stages are the most memorable for me, but they made me dizzy as a kid.

>>

Of the true classic games, I'm not sure. Each of them obviously have their own hangups, but I think I'd probably give it to Sonic 1. It's got that 'first game in the series' weirdness concentrated pretty heavily in the Special Stages that have only been done since as homages instead ofna true evolution of the concept. If we count Mania as a sort of neo-Classic, then Mania takes it pretty easily. Well crafted, fun, many different ways to play it. It's a great idea that lends itself well to Sonic. If we're count fangames that emulate Classic, then my true personal favorite is Triple Trouble 16-Bit. Racing Fang to the Emerald, having to hit boosts, dodge his attacks, hit him back, all of it incredibly frantic and keeping you on your toes. The Fang races are so great that when I got the last Emerald I was disappointed that I couldn't keep doing them.

They may or may not be old, but they must have nostalgic graphics or artstyle or something reminiscent from the 2000s (and maybe early 2010s)

>>

Have you tried Wurm Online? It's an early game made by Notch shades

Is this game fun? A part 2 just came out and is on Steam for Early Access

>>

Honestly its a lot of fun if you like the 80's, non stop crafting, and bugs. Like it captures that childhood wonder of what it'd be like to be down in the backyard. Really well polished nowadays too...

I love the games from Sigma Team like Alien Shooter. It amazes me that they still insist on making them to this very day.

I like to play Taiko

>>

I prefer Mania and other keyboard rhythm games Quaver is pretty cool, it lets you import your osu songs in there

>>

I recently started playing osu! actively again 2 days ago after 2-3 years of inactivity. But for today i will be resting, I don't want to get tired of the game instantly.

>>

>>1500 Someone who is self sufficient with all crafters and gatherers unlocked and leveled to max

>>

>>1506 i never did any of that gay shit i just killed things

>>

I haven't even finished the trial of playing in 2 years. I want an MMO world to escape to but nothing clicks. XIV feels very artificial.

>>

>>1511 since 2021 the game hasn't felt great honestly, from what ive heard from friends who still play the fights are still pretty good but i noticed everything was just becoming so simplified and catered to retards, everything felt so boring and there was no competition left. plus modding has taken over the game 100%

>>

ive gone and resubbed......... game feels meh but i think ill just push through and finish the MSQ

v-rising-cargo.png - 145.62 KB (382x215)

>>1532 based on the trailers ive seen the combat reminds me of MOBA games

>>

I got Victoria 3 on sale recently from Steam. Does anyone else play this game? The only other Paradox game I played before this was Hearts of Iron 4 and while Victoria 3 seems much more complicated, I think that this is a good thing. So far, I've been playing as Dai Nam (modern day Vietnam) and its pretty fun feuding with Thailand and Burma happy Once I get this game down better, I want to start as Sokoto and take over Africa and minimize the European influence in the continent.

>>

>>1478 i want to get into map games but my brain is small. cry i have Stellaris and HOI4 on Steam but haven't put much time into either of them. i'm sure i'd learn them fine if i just played but it seems kinda daunting.

>>1480 HOI4 gets a lot more fun with mods as the base game is kind of small

>>

Bullying the smaller African states as Sokoto is pretty fun

>>

>>1478 i still play victoria 2, does vic 3 get updates? i heard people were looking forward to eu5 more recently >>1480 check crusader kings 3 out hikarin shades it's the easiest and most fun >>1508 hoi4 has lots of mod drama too, i feel it's a separate community from other paradox games. >>1536 make sure you become the richest nation my hikarin!
