As a zoomer who doesn't know what 4chan looked like back in the day, I theorize that the root of the problem is that social media has made contrarians much more toxic to achievers, technology is a hobby, the whole thing about hobbies is doing things, these people are trapped by the pleasure they derive from talking shit in a state of inaction. They still like larping about programming languages though, have you ever seen a barrier of entry to the group's gratifying feedback lower than using a specific brand of tool?

/diy/ is the real technology board, tbh mixing (complicated) software, hardware and scraps requires a high-percentile intelligence, I doubt you could even contact people like this outside of irl meetups or jobs

yeah i am implying that diy is a bunch of retards who play with leds, the best putting pre-made video recording software on their front-doors You don't see people soldering walkie-talkies that do tls or drones or whatever

The site is still relatively new, I think everyone at this point can be considered an oldfriend in the future

i am a new poster and i mainly browse img boards via RSS. i posted a suggest in /h3/ for posts to be visible in the feed and the admin said they planned on doing that anyway currently it looks deadder than dead on the feed but its only because threads are much rarer than posts. so you have to remind yourself to do the rounds and check in on the various alt chans every now and then
